Here is what I put together on word for handing out to potential clients for introducing them to the potential of organising a jewellery party as home networking.

Crystal Bouquet - Work in Progress

I have made this crystal bouquet from both swarovski crystals (heart shapes, butterfly shapes and bicone shapes) and pearls. At my last count, there is over 120 individual pieces and about 100 silver plated twisted stems. It is still work in progress because I am trying to figure out whether to wrap the holder in ribbon or silk or whatever. The flexibility of the bouquet is that you can always direct the stems to face whichever angle you want or make them all straight or twist them tightly.

I am not pushing to finish it now because it is not for anyone in particular unless I get a push for it.

Start to 2010

I have been busy working on some new things and waiting for supplies to come through the post only to realise that I have either order the wrong colour, wrong size or totally wrong product. Gone are the days when we can go to shops and have a look and feel of what we are trying to buy to make sure it is right. How many times have people ordered clothes over the internet only to find out that it is not as the picture shows or it doesnt even fit. Anyway, less of my diversifying.

I have finally got the right product, colour and quantity through the post and I have had great fun in creating new things. Now I need to find out how to take good pictures with my camera. That is my 2010 resolution because I know that the pictures I take does not do my products justice. I did a marvelous sparkling crystal bouquet (all hand twisted) but the picture is awful. I cant even show it to you as a preview because it is just horrible. I did a wedding exhibition on Sunday 24th Jan 2010 and the compliments I had from brides was so interesting and wanted to know if they can see a picture of it on my website to show friends before they make up their minds to order. Unfortunately, they cant because I know the picture would not do it justice for now until I learn to take pictures of products with crystals. Talking about crystals, I also created some nice bracelets, earrings and necklaces from the said crystals. And I have also done some wedding invitations. Once I can proper pictures done, I would upload a couple for viewing.

Another thing that I have been working on is a guide to making some of my products even the crystal bouquet. They are going to be illustrated with wordings and pictures but as you already know, I need to get the pictures right first.

Thats it for now.

Something Great

I have not blogged for a while due to work and home commitments. But something great happened this afternoon when I was contacted about exhibiting in an upcoming (2010)wedding show being held locally. I initially was skeptical when I got the phonecall because the number of the company was showing as a miss call on both my personal and business mobile phone. But, I decided to call the number back and behold to me, they were offering me something that was going to be of benefit to my company. Although, as I said, I was initially skeptical because I thought they were about to sell me advertising space. My usual answer to that is I have no budget for it right now. But when I heard the words FREE, my ears sprung open like a rabbit.

All that is required of the exhibitors which is not compulsory is to donate item(s) for the goody bags that they hand out to brides on the day. This is another form of advertising because I would know that apart from them getting my goods for free, I can also put in some of my fliers to advertise my product. And since I make all my accessories myself, am sure I can russle up something nice, prob earrings within a quid or so price range. That way, if it is earrings, I can also add a picture of a matching necklace and bracelet that they can come and buy by producing a voucher (part of my promotional fliers in the goody bag) and getting 10% off or buying something else I make and still get 10% off.

I would keep you posted as to how things are going. The exhibition is due to take place end of January 2010 but in the meantime, I have a xmas craft show coming up on Sunday and December 5th /6th 2009. So, I better get busy producing more things that I can take with me. That is mostly going to Jewellery and hampers, something tangilble for xmas. So come back regularly to find out how am getting on. I would prob put some pictures up of things I have made. Hasta la vista for now. Going to make some food and get ready to watch Eastenders and Am a celebrity (more of Jordan's funny shape mouth).

Weekend Promise

As I mentioned on Friday that I would be creating some new designs. Well, the update on that is I didnt get the opportunity to do anything because the supplies I was expecting from my suppliers never turned up. I made the order on the 13th October and expected that I would get it latest the weekend. I called them today and asked where my supplies were and all they had to say was it has been put in the post today. I asked, why did it take that long, normally I get my order processed on time. They replied to say, maybe there was an item out of stock.
Yeah, right.
It was a small order and I dont think any item was out of stock. They just sat on it for nothing, maybe thinking the postal strike would be called off. No one knows what is happening with that and my order being dispatched today might not turn up until God knows when.

I better start making plans to put my xmas order and baby shower order in.

By the way, I did have my hair done though.

Weekend Task

On top of taking my dad to Heathrow on Sunday, running errands most of Saturday for my sister, sorting out the kids one way or another and most importantly, finding time to get a hairdo. I intend making a memory wire bracelet, bag charm and bookmark. Where I would find the time, I don’t know, but that is the plan. Would see how it pans out and what I manage to achieve.

oops, I even forgot that I also have a baby shower to organise. I would be booking the restaurant over the weekend, although baby shower is not until end of the month, it needs planning from way before now.
